DEMETRIA WAMBIA

Demetria Wambia is a Detroit-born, New York-based storyteller with a master’s degree in urban planning (University of Michigan) and 15+ years of experience in journalism, communications, and marketing. Her byline (which is in the thousands) has been featured on numerous media platforms such as BET, Essence, VICE, EBONY, and more. She has worked with universities, nonprofits, and tech startups on a wide range of projects including marketing/communications strategy, outreach, writing and editing long and short form content, and ghostwriting statements.

Demetria seeks to create and nurture communities that are sustainable in every sense of the word. Her goal is to leave the world a little bit better than she found it. She’s especially interested in amplifying the stories of historically under-resourced populations. Let’s dream and build together!

When she’s not hanging out with her husband, Demetria can often be found doing a deep dive into her family tree, planning the next vacation (with a color-coded spreadsheet, natch), or typing away into the sunrise towards her new frontier…fiction. Stay tuned!
